"Government would erect one in the neighbourhood of Pretoria. "The Australian Government have undertaken to erect a "station to communicate with Singapore. Later it is contemplat "-ed that stations should be erected at Hongkong and possibly *in West Africa".

Mr. Pollock brought forward a motion at the meeting of the Legislative Council yesterday of which I enclose a copy and also a copy of the debate which took place. You will observe that on y assurance that I would bring the matter to your notice, the motion was withdraw.

I should be glad to learn whether the station

for Hongkong, referred to by the Postmaster-General, is the Naval Wireless Station which has formed the subject of previous cor- -respondence, and, if so, whether it is intended to allow the Public to use it for long distance comercial communication.

4.

The Unofficial Members of the Legislative Council and the Commercial Community are very anxious that Hong- -kong should not be excluded from any such radiotelegraphic development as is adumbrated in the speech of the Postmaster-

-General.
